Der Film erzählt die Geschichte von Javed, einem britischen Teenager pakistanischer Abstammung, der 1987 in der englischen Stadt Luton lebt. Jared entdeckt ein befreiendes Ventil für seine unterdrückten Träume und findet den Mut, sich in seiner ganz eigenen Stimme auszudrücken.
